Tim And Demi-Leigh Tebow Welcomed Their First Child On July 6

Retired NFL star Tim Tebow and his wife, former Miss South Africa and Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Tebow, have revealed their baby girl’s beautiful name.

The Tebows announced their pregnancy in January. They later shared a gender reveal video that showed them making a painting for their daughter, which they added a Bible verse to.

Then, on July 7, Tim and Demi-Leigh announced their daughter was born the previous day (July 6). They paired the joyful announcement with a series of black-and-white photos taken in the hospital after her arrival.

“Our daughter is here!” they said. “We couldn’t be more grateful for the blessing and gift of this new little life. We’re so grateful to the whole medical team that assisted us in the best way possible during my labor and delivery. From our doctor to our nurses and all the hospital staff — we are so grateful and thankful for you.”

Upon announcing their baby girl’s birth, the Tebows said they’d share her name “soon.”

Demi-Leigh Explains How Baby Tebow’s Name Honors A Beloved Family Member

Later on July 7, Tim and Demi-Leigh finally revealed the name they chose for their daughter—Daphne Reign Tebow. Demi also shared the special meaning behind both her first and middle names.

Demi explained how the name “Daphne” honors a beloved family member. Since she never knew her maternal grandmother, her grandma’s sister, Daphne, “stepped in as a grandma figure.”

“She was so special to my mom and I — a tiny, kind and strong South African woman who always had shortbread in the house, was the epitome of grit and grace, loved Jesus, had the voice of an angel and made everyone feel seen and special. I used to tell my mom, ‘I want to be just like Ouma Daphne one day.’”

Because of the special connection she shared with her Ouma Daphne, Demi-Leigh loved her name. She always said if she ever had a daughter, she wanted to name her in Daphne’s honor.

“Shortly after Tim and I got married, I shared that desire with him, and thankfully he loved the name just as much as I did!” she said.
As for their baby girl’s middle name, “Reign,” Demi-Leigh explained:

“It’s inspired by a precious little girl Tim and I have loved deeply for years. Her story has shaped our hearts in ways I can’t even begin to explain. But more than anything, her name reminds us that when you’re adopted into God’s family, you become a child of the King. You were made to rule and reign—not in power, but in purpose, love, and identity.”
