Beyond fashion, Rooks also made headlines for her report on Ja Morant’s reaction to the Grizzlies’ recent coaching change. According to Rooks, Morant and his teammates were unaware of the organization’s decision to fire head coach Taylor Jenkins.
“The decision, I am told, was about the second half of the season… I can confirm that Ja Morant did not ask for this move to be made and the team did not know that this was coming,” Rooks reported.
The Grizzlies came out strong in the first quarter, building a seven-point lead. However, the Celtics quickly took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Grizzlies 41-29.
Despite their efforts, the Grizzlies fell short, losing 117-103 to the Eastern Conference powerhouse.
The Grizzlies will look to bounce back as they prepare for their next game against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. With the playoffs approaching, the team will need to find consistency under interim coach Tuomas Iisalo.
