For months, Kevin Costner and singer Jewel have been at the center of romance rumors. Now, the “You Were Meant For Me” singer is breaking the silence.

In a new interview with Elle, Jewel spoke briefly about her thoughts on Costner and she admitted the speculations surrounding the nature of their relationship were “intense.”

“He’s a great person,” she told the “Yellowstone” actor, who finalized his divorce from his wife of 18 years, Christine Baumgartner, last year. “Certainly the public appeal is very strong.”

In December, the duo was spotted getting intimate with each other on a trip to the British Virgin Islands.

Photos obtained by TMZ show Jewel speaking into a microphone and appearing to be sitting on Costner’s lap, with his arm wrapped around her waist.

The two traveled to Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the Caribbean to raise tennis funds for the Inspiring Kids Foundation, an organization founded by Jewel.

“Every year, my foundation @inspiringchildren and I go to Necker Island to help organize a tennis event with @richardbranson to raise funds for our kids. Great players like @geniebouchard come and assist us in playing doubles with those who come… it’s a great time and a time I use to relax, rest and play with my son!” the 49-year-old wrote on Instagram, along with a series of photos from the event – including one with Costner.

“@kevincostnermodernwest’ve been kind to guide our kids this year, and Sir Richard is the one who always inspires him – who also plays a bad doubles game!”

Sources told TMZ that the pair flew to the Caribbean together and spent time together outside the event, saying: “There’s definitely something going on. They’re flirting with each other, and when they’re together, it’s like they’re both just shining.”

That same week, a source told People magazine that the relationship was “new but not entirely new.”

The source said: “There is a huge attraction for both sides.” “Jewel likes Kevin’s type of person, and Kevin likes to have a relationship, so this is great. He is having fun after his controversial divorce. He’s glad it’s over.”

Another source told Us Weekly that Costner and Jewel had known each other “for years” and had “been quietly dating for a while.”

“Kevin and Jewel have extremely high views of each other and have always been very compatible with each other,” the source said. They check a lot of boxes for each other.”

“He really likes [the band, Modern West] and sings, and she’s really a part of the country and the Western world,” the source added. “Some of their mutual friends joked that it was surprising that they hadn’t seen each other so many years ago.”

Coster’s ex, Baumgartner — who shares three children with the 69-year-old actor — filed for divorce on May 1 citing irreconcilable differences. In documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Baumgartner cited April 11 as the date of separation.

After four months of wrangling in and out of court over child and spousal support payments, the former couple settled their terms in September, just before they returned to determine who would be responsible for paying nearly $1 million in attorney’s fees to Baumgartner.
