One of the most enjoyable reasons to watch America’s Got Talent is the surprise performances and on Tuesday night, 10-year-old cutie patootie Bay Melnick Virgolino from New York wins the judges and the audience’s heart with his rock ‘n’ roll swagger.

Bay, who asked his mom for guitar lessons when he was 5 years old because he was obsessed with Slash, riffed an unbelievable guitar solo as he rocked out to Lenny Kravitz’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way.”

“I think Lenny Kravitz would be so proud of you,” Mel B told Bay when he finished. “You got so into it and did all those riffs, I really felt it. I liked that bit. I did.”

Howie Mandel added, “I don’t have to say anything. This audience said it, ‘You are amazing. You are memorable. You’re like a rock star.’ You really are.”

“I think you are one of the coolest kids I’ve ever met,” Sofia Vergara said. “You are a little, mini, tiny superstar.”

Then it was Simon Cowell’s turn. “I really can relate to that. I was talking a second ago, my son Eric just learned how to play drums, and I was just thinking, ‘Gosh, it must be the best feeling in the world for you and your mom and dad right now just to be there after that.’ Because you’re so good. You really are. And you’re having the best time you’ve ever had, aren’t you?”

“Yep,” Bay answered.

“I can tell,” Simon said. “If you’re having fun, we’re having fun.”

Then the judges voted and it was four yeses.

America’s Got Talent airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
