Jamal Roberts Puts Rumors to Rest with Emotional Reveal: American Idol Finalist Shares Heartwarming Baby Pics and Finally Introduces His Child’s Mother

American Idol finalist Jamal Roberts returned home to Meridian, Mississippi on May 14, and while the hometown parade and school visit were memorable, one moment stood above the rest: meeting his newborn daughter, Gianna Grace Roberts, for the very first time.

The 27-year-old PE teacher and fan favorite has been on a whirlwind journey, rising to the Top 3 of American Idol Season 23 — all while becoming a #GirlDad for the third time.

 First Baby Pics Melt the Internet

On May 16, Roberts shared his first personal photos of baby Gianna on Instagram, starting with a precious shot of her dressed in a ladybug onesie.
“Hey world, meet my little ladybug , Gianna Grace Roberts. I’m so proud to be her father  #girldadforlife #idol”, he wrote in the caption.
The emotional post came just days before the American Idol finale and instantly flooded with love and support from fans.

 The Cutest Fan in the Room

In a second photo, baby Gianna sported a custom baby tee with images of her dad performing on Idol, reading:
“My Dad is the Next American Idol”

“Vote Jamal Roberts — Meridian Proud, Meridian Strong, Meridian United.”

A third picture showed the newborn peacefully sleeping in a lavender outfit with a matching pacifier — already a natural in front of the camera.

 A Private Journey, Finally Shared

Roberts had kept the pregnancy out of the public eye. During the May 5 live episode, he surprised fans — and even judges — with a heartfelt announcement.
“It was so personal to me, I did not share it,” he said live on air. “But I have a healthy, beautiful baby girl born today.”

Though he has not shared the identity of Gianna’s mother, fans have respected his privacy and focused their support on what matters most: his growing family and his incredible journey.

 Big Sisters, Bigger Smiles

Roberts is also father to two older daughters: Harmoni (6) and Lyrik (3), who have captured fans’ hearts right alongside their dad.

The girls have appeared in the Idol audience, in social media posts, and even during Jamal’s hometown concert and parade, showing their full support with handmade signs and big smiles.

“I love my daughters,” Roberts told Parade earlier this month. “They’re the reason I’m here and working so hard — to keep smiles on those little faces.”

Jamal Roberts will face off against fellow finalists John Foster and Breanna Nix during the live three-hour finale of American Idol Season 23, airing Sunday, May 18 at 8 PM ET on ABC.
