George Clooney said he and his wife Amal Clooney “still haven’t” gotten into an argument in their relationship

The actor married the human rights attorney in 2014 and they share 7½-year-old twins

“We’re trying to find something to fight about,” George joked on CBS Mornings

George Clooney and Amal Clooney’s marital bliss is still in tact with no arguments so far, the actor claims.

While on CBS Mornings to promote his Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck, George, 63, at one point said he and Amal, whom he married in 2014, are “having a really great time in life.”

He told host Gayle King of their twins Alexander and Ella, “Our kids are 7, about to be 8, which is a pretty great age. They’re really curious and funny. Every parent thinks their kids are great — our kids are funny and make us laugh.”

George then recalled how he told King, 70, in a previous interview that he and Amal, 47, had never had an argument. “I remember we were here with you once before, and I remember we said we’d never had an argument. We still haven’t,” he said. “We’re trying to find something to fight about!”

“I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman,” added George. “I feel as if I hit the jackpot. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think I’m the luckiest man in the world. So it’s great.”

When he and Amal appeared on CBS Mornings in September 2022, George said maintaining a strong marriage has been “easy” with Amal. “Like, the easiest thing in our lives by far. We’ve never had an argument.”

Added Amal, “It’s maddening to some of our friends. I have a cousin, actually, every time we see him he’s like, his first question is, ‘So have you had an argument yet?’ before he says hello.”

At the time, King asked, “Seriously? You’ve never had an argument?” and George joked with a laugh, “Would you like us to right now? Would that make feel better?”

Back in December 2020, George reiterated the no-argument streak in a wide-ranging interview with PEOPLE: “I feel very lucky in so many ways to have met her. We haven’t ever had an argument. You know, everybody’s been slammed together because of the coronavirus and a lot of friends’ relationships have been tested. For us, it’s been really easy.”

Amal told Vogue in 2018 that falling in love with George “felt like the most natural thing in the world.”

“It’s the one thing in life that I think is the biggest determinant of happiness, and it’s the thing you have the least control over,” she said of romance at the time. “Are you going to meet this person? I was 35 when I met him. It wasn’t obvious that it was going to happen for me. And I wasn’t willing or excited about the idea of getting married or having a family in the absence of that.”
