Everything inside Jeff Bezos’s secret but lavish “wedding of the century”: Where the super-rich and Hollywood gather

From bespoke wedding dresses inspired by movies, hotels costing hundreds of millions per night, to super-luxury yachts and an all-star guest list, the wedding of billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Venice is nothing more than a real extravagant movie.

Although all information is kept secret, the lavish wedding of billionaire Jeff Bezos and former MC Lauren Sanchez is becoming the focus of attention in the city of Venice (Italy) – which is known as the “floating city of love”. Expected to last from June 26 to 28, the event is likened to one of the most closely guarded and anticipated weddings in Europe this year.

“Silent” but noisy event

Although the couple’s spokespeople remained silent in front of the media and some guests revealed that they had to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), rumors about every detail of the wedding – from the venue to the guest list to the wedding dress – are constantly circulating.

The couple is said to have been in Venice since June 25 with a series of organizing plans prepared by the prestigious event company Lanza and Baucina – the duo who turned the Grand Canal into a red carpet for the wedding of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin in 2014.

According to Reuters, although the details are still under wraps, some notable information about the wedding has been revealed. Luca Zaia – president of the Veneto region said that the cost for the entire three-day wedding ceremony is estimated at 40-48 million euros (about 1,223-1,468 billion VND). The Venice Ministry of Tourism estimates that this series of events will generate nearly 68% of the city’s full-year tourism revenue in just one weekend.

However, not everyone in Venice welcomes the event. The protest group “No Space for Bezos” voiced protest and threatened to block the canal around the venues. They argue that the wedding has “occupied” public space and contributed to the overcrowding of tourism – which is a sore problem for the city.

A number of protest banners and banners have also been hung everywhere, including from Greenpeace.

The event company insisted that any information that they “controlled” the city was false, and that the goal from the beginning was to “minimize any impact on the local community”.

The aura of the super-rich and Hollywood

It is known that about 200 guests will participate in the wedding, including many famous figures from politics, businessmen to Hollywood stars. Lauren Sanchez once held a grand bachelorette party in Paris in May with the participation of Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Eva Longoria and Kris Jenner.

Names such as Oprah Winfrey, Mick Jagger, Ivanka Trump were also confirmed by the international press to be on the guest list.

The president of the Veneto region, Luca Zaia, also joked that former US President Donald Trump could also be a guest and affirmed: “This is a city that used to welcome 150,000 people a day. Clooney, Salma Hayek, Elton John, and Arnault have all been married here, so it’s not too much.”

In a gesture of goodwill, Bezos and Sanchez donated 1 million euros ($1.16 million) to the Corila scientific research organization operating in the Venice lagoon — which is said to be a “gift of love and responsibility.”

Wedding venue changes, security until the last minute

According to a source from the Venetian authorities, the venues have been booked for several days so that they can change flexibly depending on the weather or the development of the protests. An administrative document issued by the city government on June 25 confirmed that a “wedding of prominent figures in the global business world” will take place from June 26 to 28. In particular, the first party night was held in the area of the Madonna dell’Orto church – which will be locked down exclusively for the event.

Hotels and venues range from the Aman Hotel on the Grand Canal – where the Clooney wedding took place – to San Giorgio Maggiore Island, the headquarters of the Cini Foundation with its gardens and ancient monastery… have all become places where “the wedding of this century” can take place.

And finally, the island of San Giorgio Maggiore officially became the venue for the couple’s wedding ceremony. Besides the bright white marble Renaissance churches designed by Italian architect Andrea Palladio, perhaps a more practical reason why the couple chose the island: privacy.

After a series of protests took place in the city, including threatening to block the canal, hanging guerrilla banners and even bizarre Bezos effigies, Sanchez and Bezos were reportedly forced to change one of the wedding venues at the last minute. The security factor and the island’s isolation may play a key role in their final decision.

At dawn on June 28 (Vietnam time), the bride Lauren Sanchez uploaded a photo of the space inside the wedding on her personal Instagram with the caption: “27/06/2025”.

It can be seen that Lauren wears a fishtail dress designed by Dolce & Gabbana with a high-neck design combined with 180 chiffon silk buttons. It is known that the dress was inspired by the dress that Sophia Loren wore in the 1958 movie Houseboat. Meanwhile, the groom wears a tuxedo and leather shoes.

Regarding the surrounding space, the main color tones are moss green and white with flower clusters arranged along the path. In addition, the guests also strictly comply with the privacy regulations of the wedding, less active on social media.

The most luxurious hotels

Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez are expected to stay at two of Venice’s most luxurious hotels, Aman and Cipriani, during the three-day wedding ceremony. These are all the pinnacle symbols of luxury and privacy in Italy.

In addition to the main couple, about 200 famous guests will also be welcomed at luxury mansions with rents from 2,000 pounds (more than 60 million VND) per night.

Aman Venice Hotel

In particular, Aman Venice is a 5-star hotel located right on the Grand Canal. The hotel offers splendid rooms with private gardens, spacious dining rooms and luxury suites. The interior is decorated with works of art imbued with historical value, including architectural details by Sansovino – a 16th-century master and frescoes by Tiepolo – an 18th-century painter.

Rooms at Aman feature high-quality silk furnishings, crystal chandeliers, hand-painted ceilings, carved wood panels, and antique Chinese décor. Many rooms have direct views of the beautiful Grand Canal.

No less impressive, the Cipriani Hotel is one of Venice’s most legendary destinations. The hotel boasts luxurious antique furniture, a Michelin-starred restaurant and stunning views.

One of the highlights is the Olympic-inspired swimming pool, surrounded by lush gardens, offering a rare relaxation space in the heart of the famously narrow city.

Commensurate with the class, room rates at Cipriani also range from £2,000 and can go up to more than £4,000 per night (equivalent to more than 64 million VND and can be up to more than 128 million VND) depending on the room class and time.

The right Italian wedding party: From cakes to yachts

The couple chooses up to 80% of the service providers from the locals, from traditional pastries prepared by Venice’s oldest bakery to Murano glass gifts designed by the Laguna B brand.

Handmade glass cups for guests

Specifically, local bakery Rosa Salva Venetia – arguably the oldest bakery in Venice – will be in charge of providing a series of tempting sweets for this lavish party weekend. The restaurant’s menu includes tiramisu, pastries filled with fluffy crispy cream and fritelli – a traditional Italian fried dish. The shop has also received baking orders for about 200 gift bags for guests.

About 30 of the city’s 280 water taxis have been chartered for weddings, along with many gondolas and yachts. Bezos’ $500 million Koru yacht has also appeared off the coast of the Adriatic Sea, escorted by the smaller yacht L’Abeona.

Venetian airspace is also restricted from flying, with the exception of some helicopters licensed for security reasons, especially for high-ranking figures. Marco Polo Airport has arranged a separate passage from planes to water boats for the stars to come and go unnoticed
