Beloved American TV Star Unrecognizable: Mysterious Disease Ravages Face, Drains Fortune

Actor and model Brandi Glanville said that she spent more than 113,000 USD (nearly 3 billion VND) on the diagnosis and treatment of a strange disease that causes her face to be concave and deformed.

In an interview with Us Weekly this week, Brandi Glanville revealed about financial and health exhaustion: “I’m out of money, I don’t have the means to go anywhere at the moment. I’m only active online, immersed in multiple directions. It’s very tiring and time-consuming.”

The 52-year-old star has been facing an unexplained medical condition that causes facial deformity for nearly two years. She spent more than $100,000 trying to find a cure for a strange disease that health insurance doesn’t cover.

“I just want to find a doctor who can help me,” Glanville said, noting that she hasn’t received any definitive answers or diagnoses yet. “It’s not just me but many other women are going through this, and men too. Several people have contacted me. I empathize with them, understand what they are going through and the pressures they endure… It felt like everything was about to explode. I was exhausted.”

Glanville has tried a variety of treatments and met with different specialists to try to diagnose and find the specific cause for a reasonable treatment plan, including an infectious disease doctor and a leading allergist. She had previously suspected a parasitic infection but did not have an accurate diagnosis. After that, the doctors advised the actor to go to the dentist. However, the results of CT scans, MRIs and ultrasounds did not detect anything inside that was wreaking havoc on her face.

“That thing was moving down my body, as if it was in my neck running down my left shoulder and arm,” she added. “I had to get up, stretch my body, soak in a hot tub. That process happens every day and it sucks.”

The former model’s strange illness began in 2023 when she was hospitalized for angioedema, a condition when the tissue under the skin swells. After that, she developed painful lumps in the jawbone, neck and back of the neck. Last December, Brandi told ET that she believed her health problems stemmed from time in Morocco filming Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. Glanville thought she had a strange parasite and felt it move all over her face.

Focusing on his ill health battles, Brandi Glanville withdrew from the spotlight and social activities. She felt isolated like during Covid-19 and like living in prison. Brandi said she hadn’t dated for months, hadn’t hung out with friends and felt like she was losing herself.

The Beverly Hills Housewives star recently began using Cellsound therapy, an advanced method of face and body shaping that regenerates the skin, stimulates collagen gain, and removes excess fat cells. She also took antibiotics and participated in stem cell therapy with Dr. Joy Kong. “After treatment with Dr. Kong, I feel more energized. I feel better even though I haven’t improved my appearance,” she said.
