Anne Burrell considered appearing on Meghan Markle’s Netflix cooking show before her shocking death.

The celebrity chef, who passed away on Tuesday, June 17, at the age of 55, discussed being a potential guest on Markle’s “With Love, Meghan” series during a newly resurfaced interview with Daily Mail from April.

“Sure, of course. I’d go to the opening of an envelope,” the Food Network star said just two months before her passing. “Why not cook with Meghan?”

Burrell also admitted that she had never tried jam from Markle’s troubled As Ever lifestyle brand.

“I’m not really a jam girl,” she said. “Occasionally, I make them for my husband. I make scones and we have jam then. Other than that, I wouldn’t say I’m super jammy.”

Although Burrell never had the opportunity to appear on “With Love, Meghan” before her devastating passing, several celebrity chefs – including Roy Choi, Alice Waters and Ramon Velazquez – did star alongside the Duchess of Sussex, 43, in the eight-episode first season.

The “Worst Chefs in America” co-host’s remarks about potentially appearing on “With Love, Meghan” came shortly after Netflix confirmed in March that the show had been renewed for a second season.

Burrell’s family confirmed the celebrity chef’s death on Tuesday.

“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend – her smile lit up every room she entered,” her loved ones said in a statement.

“Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world,” they added. “Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”

While Burrell’s family did not reveal her cause of death, the New York City Police Department revealed that she was found “unconscious and unresponsive” at her Brooklyn home on Tuesday morning and pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for the New York City Fire Department also told Page Six on Wednesday that a 911 caller claimed Burrell suffered a “cardiac arrest” and was “DOA [dead on arrival]” to the hospital.

Still, her official cause of death has not yet been confirmed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Burrell hosted the long-running Food Network series “Worst Cooks in America” for 27 seasons from 2010 to 2024.

The network remembered Burrell in a touching statement to The Post following the news of her death.

“Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent – teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring,” a representative said.

“Our thoughts are with Anne’s family, friends and fans during this time of tremendous loss,” they added.

Chef Tyler Florence, who starred with Burrell as a judge and co-host on “Worst Cooks in America” during its 28-season run, remembered her as a “legendary chef” and an “even better friend.”

“Anne was a legendary chef and an even better friend,” he told The Post. “She was the kind of person who showed up – for dinners, our kids birthday parties, or a swim in the ocean – and lit up every room she walked in to. I’ll never forget when our daughter Dorothy told me Anne was her favorite chef — we always got a kick out of that.”

Florence also discussed their time filming for the Food Network.

“We shared many adventures, especially during our years filming Worst Cooks in America,” he continued. “She had a true gift for teaching people how to cook – with patience, wit and just the right amount of sass.”

“I’ll always picture Anne in her dressing room, knitting between takes, with one of her cats wandering in to say hello. She brought her generous heart, humor and feisty spirit to everything she did,” Florence concluded. “She will be deeply missed by the entire Florence Family.”

Burrell’s final Instagram post was a photo of her and the famous NYC fixture the Green Lady of Brooklyn. She shared the sweet pic on June 12.

It has also been revealed that Burrell performed an improv comedy show at The Second City New York in Brooklyn on Monday night and just hours before her sudden passing.

Someone in attendance at the show said that the celebrity chef “was in great spirits” both “during and after the improv show.”

“Typical fun, outgoing Anne, having a blast,” the insider added.
