The star-studded awards show coming up, and the 51st iteration of the musical celebration is sure to be one for the books, where Jennifer Lopez returns to the stage 10 years after her last hosting gig.

This year’s awards show, taking place at the luxury resort Fontainebleau Las Vegas, takes place on Memorial Day.

To commemorate the holiday, the AMAs and AMAs and Easy Day Foundation (a Las Vegas-based nonprofit which helps veterans transition to civilian life) are partnering “to present several special in-show moments that celebrate Veterans while raising funds for a variety of national and local organizations.”

During the awards show, two special performances will take place, along with a “presentation of a special award honoring a marquee talent who uses their platform to make meaningful contributions to the Veteran community.”

Who is hosting the 2025 American Music Awards?

Ten years after hosting the 2015 AMAs, Jennifer Lopez is returning to the stage to serve as master of ceremonies once more.

“Jennifer’s incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host of the show. We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kick off celebration of summer,”  Jay Penske, CEO, Dick Clark Productions, said, per a press release of Lopez”s talent.

Lopez, 55, previously teased a potential return in a taped interview ahead of the 50th AMAs in 2024.

“It’s pretty incredible, right? Fifty years of the American Music Awards. I remember watching them at home when I was a little girl,” she said, reflecting on her first performance in 2001. She has since performed at the awards show over 10 times.

“Maybe I’ll do it again one day. Who knows?” she added when talking about her 2015 hosting gig.

Who is nominated at the 2025 American Music Awards?

Kendrick Lamar dominates the 2025 American Music Awards nominees with 10 nods, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Favorite Music Video.

Following Lamar, 37, is Post Malone with eight nods, and Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Shaboozey with seven nominations.

Meanwhile, first-time nominees include Benson Boone, Doechii, Gracie Abrams, ​​Jelly Roll, Lola Young, The Marías, ROSÉ, Teddy Swims, Tommy Richman, Tyla, Sabrina Carpenter and Zach Bryan.

Who is winning the ICON Award at the 2025 American Music Awards?

This year, the American Music Awards are honoring Janet Jackson with the ICON Award. This recognition goes to a musician “whose music has had undeniable cultural and global influence over the music industry.” Past honorees include Lionel Richie and Rihanna.

The AMAs’ Instagram account called her “one of the most influential entertainers of the modern era” ahead of the awards show.

“Thank you so much, AMAs!! ♥️ It’s an honor. We look forward to being on your stage again. See you in Vegas! 😘,” Jackson, 59, said in response.

Who is winning the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 American Music Awards?

This year, Rod Stewart is being recognized for his decades-long music career with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Sir Rod Stewart is a master showman whose charisma and energy have defied time and embody the very spirit of rock and roll, “executive producers Barry Adelman, EVP, Television, and Alexi Mazareas, SVP, Programming & Development, Dick Clark Productions said in a statement about the 80-year-old singer.

Who is receiving the Veterans Voice Award at the 2025 American Music Awards?

Zac Brown will be honored with the inaugural Veterans Voice Award presented by Easy Day Foundation on Monday, May 26. He will be receiving this award for his unwavering support of the veteran community and for making meaningful, lasting impacts in the lives of Veterans.

Who is performing at the 2025 American Music Awards?

Like the list of nominees, the performances slated for the AMAs are packed with talent. Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Gloria Estefan, Benson Boone, Lainey Wilson and Reneé Rapp will be taking the stage with different performances.

Artists like Estefan, 67, and Stefani, 55, will have career-spanning medleys teed up. Boone, 22, and Rapp, 25, meanwhile, are expected to debut new music.

Wilson, 33, will take the stage following part of her Whirlwind Tour. Shelton, 48, will be promoting his new album For Recreational Use Only.

Becky G and Manuel Turizo will also take the stage on Monday night to debut their new single, “Que Haces.” Alex Warren will also be making his award show performance debut in Las Vegas.

Janet Jackson, who is slated to receive the ICON Award on Monday night, will also take the stage, marking her first televised performance since 2018.

Rod Stewart, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award that night, will also sing one of his enduring classics, which will be his first performance at the awards show since 2004.

The American Music Awards will feature a star-studded lineup of presenters taking the stage on Monday night.

Alix Earle, Cara Delevingne, Ciara, Dan + Shay, Dylan Efron, Heidi Klum, Jordan Chiles, Kai Cenat, Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Moroney, Nikki Glaser, Shaboozey, Tiffany Haddish, and Wayne Brady will present the winners with their highly coveted trophies.

Fans can tune in on Monday, May 26 at 8 p.m. ET for the American Music Awards produced by Dick Clark Productions, airing live from Fontainebleau Las Vegas on CBS and Paramount+.
