13-YEAR-OLD GENIUS SHATTERS DR. KING’S 1944 RECORD: Youngest Student EVER Accepted to Morehouse College—Stunning Academic Feat Leaves Educators SPEECHLESS! Inside the Incredible Journey of the Child Prodigy Who’s Redefining Brilliance and Making History. How Did This Teen Achieve the IMPOSSIBLE, and What Does His Future Hold for America?
He had a plan and he stuck to it!
Joshua Suddith has always been advanced, his parents noticing his gifts at an early age. By 9 months, he was speaking, by 18 months, he was reading, and by the time he was 3-years-old, Joshua had already authored his first book. The Georgia native was already primed to do well in life. But when he was 4 years old, he learned about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his enrollment at Morehouse College when he was just 15 years old. That set a new goal for the rising genius – to beat Dr. King’s age admittance record, The Grio reports.
Now, the 13 year-old young prodigy has done just that, earning an acceptance letter from Morehouse College on his birthday. It’s a dream come true and one he put the work in to get. The Hills Academy high school student also has several other college acceptance offers from other HBCUs including Jackson State University, Tennessee State, Miles College, and Shaw University. In addition to his Morehouse acceptance, Joshua is also waiting for decisions from Harvard, Georgia Tech, and Yale. But his heart is with Morehouse and he’s ecstatic to have accomplished his goal.
“I am driven by a passion for learning and making a positive impact in the world,” the teen told reporters.
Currently, Joshua is taking courses at Augusta Technical College where he boasts a 3.88 GPA in addition to his high school studies. He’s already completed 27 credit hours and plans to defer admission to Morehouse for another year so he can graduate from high school first. Still, that puts him on track to enter the prestigious HBCU at 14 years old, one year younger than Dr. King was when he entered as an early admission student. Of course, his parents Joshua and Chaundra Suddith are more than proud of their son and excited to support him on his next journey.
“His grit and determination are the most impressive things about him. He didn’t let challenges get in the way of his dream,” said his mother Chaundra.
“As my namesake, Joshua, truly makes me proud. I pray he always keeps God first,” added his father.
Congratulations Joshua! The sky’s the limit!
